Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.

Intercollegiate Club Sports/Athletics

Job Description:

TheSports Operations Manager(SOM)forIntercollegiateClub Sportswill servevarioussports ensuringgame prep and execution.

Looking for one SOM to specialize in ICE HOCKEY while three others will cover all other sports together.

Each SOM willassistthe Assistant AD and the respective coach to deliver the best clubsportexperience.Should be able and willing to manage spreadsheets,operatescoreboard, announce starting lineups, oversee games, and correspondwith game day officials.

Job Location/ Hours Required:

The candidate will perform most/all job duties in (MILLIS ATHLETIC CENTER AND VARIOUS SPORTS FACILITIES ). Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to (15) hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet regularly withpart-timeclubcoaches/students

  • Lead according toclub sports manual of operations

  • Communicate directly with club coaches and students to helpassistwith program management.

  • Help oversee events.

  • Attend HPU events to promote the club sports program, as assigned

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Education

  • HPU Student

Experience and Training

  • Sports Managementdegree applicantpreferred

  • Athletics background a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Must be highly organized

  • Must haveknowledge of programming and administering clubsports

  • Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, adobe creative cloud (photo shop)

  • Must be able to be a team player,

  • Ability todemonstratea commitment to High Point University's Vision, Mission and Valuesand the values of the HPUAthleticDepartment
