  • Thoroughly understands the Princess photo product, Photo operations, and services. 
  • Works as part of a team of Photographers attending events during cruise voyages to capture images of guests in a variety of locations, with and without backdrops and/or studio lighting. 
  • Consistently produces a high volume of correctly composed, posed, exposed, and focused images, meeting company standards at all times. 
  • Continually strives to achieve maximum possible image capture rates and sell-through targets for each event on every voyage. 
  • Engages with all guests in a friendly and polite manner to encourage them to have their photos taken.  Guest experience is critical in the Photo department and guests must always have a fun and enjoyable experience when getting their pictures taken. 
  • Assists with obtaining bookings for the PhotoStudio program, by encouraging guests to review the program and services offered. 
  • Works, as assigned by the photo manager, in the photo gallery or photo shop, assisting guests with their photo purchases and suggesting up-sell and add-on items from retail lines or other available products and services. 
  • Always uses effective sales techniques as trained. 
  • Ensures merchandise is restocked daily and neatly presented on the selling floor. 
  • Promptly communicates issues regarding product quality and stock levels to management. 
  • Dependably organizes and maintains secure, safe, and clean stockrooms, lockers, and storage areas. 
  • Always works with direct supervisor to respond immediately to any service issues, escalating to management as appropriate. 
  • Takes accountability for protecting issued equipment and company assets as directed in policy. 
  • Constantly ensures that equipment is always used and maintained properly, and that any malfunctions or breakdowns are timely resolved. 
  • Always dresses in correct and complete company issued uniform at all times, ensuring correct placement of name badges and C.R.U.I.S.E pins 
  • Maintains a high standard of personal grooming at all times and ensures uniform clothing is clean and laundered appropriately and as needed. 
  • Previous experience as a cruise photographer highly desirable. 
  • Degree in photography preferred, but most types of college certificates in photography are acceptable.  MUST be able to provide proof of education and verifiable documentation showing what courses were completed and what the final grades were. 
  • Hands on experience in professional photography is preferred and must be documented and provable:
  1. A website or on-line portfolio that showcases the candidates work is preferred. 
  2. All work MUST be verifiable as their own original work. 
  3. A printed portfolio (for a face-to-face interview) is preferred, and must be verifiable as the candidate's original work.  
  • Minimum of two years of event, portrait or wedding photography experience, including experience shooting in large event settings. 
  • Demonstrated experience using professional-grade DSLR equipment and accessories 
  • Demonstrated experience with studio lighting equipment, light meters and accessories preferred. 
  • Intermediate to advanced Windows or Mac-based computer skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or similar types of programs. 
  • Photo Equipment:  Nikon DSLR systems, Nikon Flash Systems, Hensel & Godox Studio Flash Systems, and related accessories.  Fuji Frontier, Noritsu, and Epson commercial grade printing equipment experience preferred.
  • Language: Effective communication is a critical part of this job.  Photo staff must be able to interact with guests in a positive, upbeat style and therefore they MUST BE FLUENT (or close to fluent) in English and be an effective communicator. Effective Japanese language skills are also required for this role.
  • Personality: Personable communicator with outstanding social skills and a warm, friendly, and engaging personality. Ability to continuously surprise and delight guests throughout their cruise experience.
