Seasonal School Photographer

Company: SCH Photo

Location: Merriam, KS (Serving schools across the Greater Kansas City Metro)

Job Type: Seasonal / Temporary (Peak Season: August – November)

Schedule: Weekday mornings/daytime (Must have open availability during peak months)

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay + Paid Mileage + Paid Training

What You’ll Do

  • Equipment Set-Up: Transport, set up, and operate studio lighting, camera equipment, and backdrops at assigned school locations.
  • Portrait Capture: Pose, guide, and capture natural smiles for individual student/staff portraits and group pictures.
  • Create a Great Experience: Interact with students, teachers, and parents with a warm, energetic, and professional attitude to make Picture Day a success.
  • Data & Order Accuracy: Organize student rosters, scan QR order codes, and ensure accurate paperwork for every photo session.
  • Site Coordination: Collaborate with school administrators and SCH Photo managers to ensure sessions run smoothly and on schedule.

What We’re Looking For

  • Positive Energy & People Skills: Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with students of all ages (K-12).
  • Reliable Transportation & Clean Driving Record: Valid driver’s license, full-coverage auto insurance, and a vehicle capable of carrying equipment.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and stand for extended periods during session setups.
  • Flexible Morning Schedule: Available early weekday mornings (most shoots occur during standard school hours) with limited overnight travel.
  • Attention to Detail: Organized, task-oriented, and able to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language: Must be able to read and write in English (Bilingual Spanish is a plus!).
