Our client, a well-established leader within the commercial furniture and workplace interiors industry, is seeking a Design Specialist to join their growing team. This individual will play a key role in supporting workplace projects through space planning, furniture specification, technical drawings, and visual presentation development.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys the creative and technical side of workplace interiors and has a strong understanding of commercial furniture applications and specifications.
THE ROLE
The Designer will support workplace projects from concept through installation by preparing accurate drawings, layouts, specifications, and renderings for a variety of commercial interior environments. Working collaboratively with internal teams, this individual will help ensure furniture solutions are functional, visually compelling, and technically sound.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare furniture layouts, technical drawings, and specifications for commercial workplace projects
  • Develop creative and functional space planning solutions based on client requirements
  • Create drawings and concepts using AutoCAD and Configura CET
  • Produce installation and technical drawings with a high level of accuracy and detail
  • Generate quotations and specifications using furniture specification software
  • Prepare renderings and visual presentations utilizing CET Photo Lab, SketchUp, and/or V-Ray
  • Coordinate closely with sales, project management, and client support teams throughout project execution
  • Support projects across corporate, government, institutional, and RFP-driven sectors
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while handling revisions and evolving project requirements
  • Review and interpret architectural drawings and floorplans
  • Participate in client-facing meetings and project discussions as required
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial furniture specification, workplace interiors, or related industries
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Configura CET
  • Experience with specification and quoting software such as CAP/2020 or similar platforms
  • Working knowledge of SketchUp and/or V-Ray is considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of commercial furniture systems and technical product application
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
