This position is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience while supporting a variety of creative, digital and administrative marketing projects.

As a Junior Marketing Assistant at SMP Temperature Control Division, you will support the Marketing Services team with day-to-day projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, adaptable and willing to learn. Responsibilities will also include support for our in-house Photo Lab, including product photography and image editing. Professional photography experience is not required; however, an interest in photography and willingness to learn is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing & Administrative Support: Assist the Marketing Services team with day-to-day projects and administrative needs, including data entry, document preparation, file organization and other departmental support.
  • Photography & Photo Lab Support: Assist with product photography, 360° imaging and image editing as part of regular Photo Lab support. Learn established photography equipment, software and processes; prepare and position products; edit and retouch images as needed; and ensure final images are accurate, consistent and meet established quality standards.
  • Image Editing: Edit and enhance images for use across various platforms, ensuring they align with our brand aesthetics and quality standards.
  • Marketing Materials & Production Support: Assist with the creation, updating and preparation of marketing materials, including monthly new item flyers, product literature and other sales and promotional materials.
  • ADA & Document Accessibility: Assist with the ADA accessibility process for marketing flyers and other digital documents, following established procedures to help ensure materials meet accessibility requirements.
  • Social Media Support: Assist with social media content development, scheduling, asset preparation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of promotional items and marketing supplies and coordinate replenishment as needed.
  • Event Support: Assist with trade shows, meetings and other marketing events as needed, including preparation and coordination of materials and supporting assets.
  • Creative & Collaborative Projects: Work with the Marketing Services team on creative concepts, campaigns, departmental initiatives and occasional new product launches.
  • Market Research: Assist in researching competitor activity, industry trends, design trends and marketing best practices to support departmental initiatives.
  • Reporting: Compile and prepare reports on marketing activities, campaign performance and other relevant information as needed.
  • General Marketing Support: Assist with additional marketing, creative and departmental projects as priorities and business needs evolve.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in Marketing, Business, Graphic Design, Photography or a related field is preferred.
  • Photography: Professional photography experience is not required. Basic photography experience or an interest in photography is a plus. Must be willing and able to learn product photography techniques, camera equipment, lighting and 360° imaging processes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize inconsistencies in product positioning, image quality, file information and other project requirements.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities with the ability to manage multiple projects, files and priorities simultaneously.
  • Initiative & Ownership: Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative, follow projects through to completion and communicate when additional information or assistance is needed.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
