The opportunity

Job Summary

Southern New Hampshire University is currently seeking a responsible and detail-oriented student employee to work on the Academic Affairs team as a CPBL Design Thinking Lab Assistant, to oversee the CPBL design center and assist the CPBL Director. NOTE: YOU MUST BE RECOMMENDED FOR THESE POSITIONS BY A FACULTY MEMBER.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a weekly schedule to manage lab space, supplies, and to assist students as needed.
  • Collaborate with the CPBL Faculty Lead (or their designee) to create a calendar of events that will help students network with their faculty, staff and students who are part of their major.
  • Promote events for the space, (posters, Brightspace, and social media).
  • Create a space reservation system for the Annex Design Thinking space.
  • Facilitate workshops alongside CPBL Faculty Lead in the Design Thinking space.
  • Oversee the checkout and return process for all photo and video equipment stores in the Annex including:
  • Monitor and fulfill equipment rental requests via the existing website or direct sign out
  • Grant access to the room for students and faculty
  • Check that returned equipment is in good working order
  • Return equipment to proper storage locations
  • Report damage detected
  • Other duties, responsibilities or activities may be assigned at any time.
  • Provide feedback to faculty and the team to help meet students' needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be a student enrolled in an Undergraduate On Campus Day program at SNHU.
  • Recommendation from a faculty member.
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking and basic design software (Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential functions of this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to promote using social media.
  • Basic knowledge of photo and video equipment and/or an eagerness to learn more about media technology.
  • Highly dependable and flexible.
  • Patient, detail-oriented, compassionate, helpful.

Work Schedule

Compensation
