Description

 The Graphic Designer is a creative, positive, detail-oriented, organized individual who is experienced, self-motivated, and able to switch directions quickly while keeping pace with our workflow.  This position will be tasked with creating imaginative, strategic, and culturally-relevant designs that will push forward both our brand and those of our vendors.  Strong problem solving skills, a proactive approach to challenges, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the team will be necessary to be successful.  In this full-time position, you will report directly to the Marketing Art Director and will be working closely to the Senior Graphic Designer. 


Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Applying your understanding of typography, photo editing, layout design, communication design, and brand standards
  • Implementing and developing email marketing (via Klaviyo Marketing and Shopify's eCommerce Platform) 
  • Creating website banners, web advertisements, social media visuals, branded assets, and other visual design assignments
  • Carrying a diversified workload of projects, all at varying stages 
  • Reviewing projects daily to identify questions and answers needed to move projects forward
  • Editing imagery to format for digital environments 
  • Optimizing email designs, setting them up in our email platform, and scheduling them for deployment 
  • Designing reusable templates for the entire team
  • Keeping a pulse on current design and marketing trends within, but not limited to, the coffee industry 
  • Assisting in the development of marketing ideas for web, email, social, and video platforms
  • Collaborating with other team members to receiving, interpreting, and acting on feedback, as well as communicating design choices and constraints to team members
  • Understanding differing brand voices and designing for multiple brands within the Salzman Group as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional job experience in graphic design including design for web, brand development, social media, and identity design
  • Bachelor's degree in a graphic design-related field
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite's design applications; specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Proficiency in Figma, Klaviyo Platform, and Shopify are a plus, but not required
  • Ability to complete projects on schedule that support our brand identities and goals, as well as those of our clients
  • Fluent and knowledgeable in design trends and brand design, and able to adapt to changing market forces
  • A strong online portfolio with examples of work that include designing for eCommerce and branding
  • 2D/3D Animation Experience preferred
