KING 5 is looking for an experienced News Photojournalist to join our national award-winning staff. Qualified candidates must create high-quality content within challenging news deadlines. We are seeking an individual who can break the mold on traditional content and independently produce stories for our on-air and digital platforms. This photojournalist will also have the opportunity to pitch and execute long form projects for linear and streaming while receiving editorial and creative guidance from top professionals in the industry.
This is an IATSE-union represented position.
In This Role, You Will
  • Capture video and audio elements to craft compelling and captivating news, sports, and feature stories for both our linear AND streaming platforms.
  • Collaborate with reporters to develop a cohesive vision for stories.
  • Independently gather and create stories, showcasing your creativity and journalistic prowess.
  • Edit stories using Edius and other editing platforms (i.e. Adobe Premiere). Crea
  • Create graphics for day turn packages.
  • Generate vertical videos daily for our digital and streaming apps.
  • Operate electronic newsgathering (ENG) vans and live remote equipment.

Requirements
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in TV photojournalism and/or news editing, OR 2+ years of relevant experience coupled with a bachelor's degree in journalism.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 80 pounds, with or without accommodation.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • FAA Part 107 Pilot's license with experience operating a drone for newsgathering
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, & Photoshop) to create compelling visual graphics.
  • Competency in operating mirrorless cameras (Sony FS7 and a7s series).
  • Speaking a second language is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
We are offering competitive pay along with benefits. This position is full-time, hourly, and IATSE union. Compensation Range: $35.86 - $40.76 hourly.

$35.86-$40.76 USD
Benefits:
