Job description

Job purpose
The cash attendant's job is very diverse. They help with many different areas of the cash department, including checking bracelets and bags of any person coming into the park, meeting and greeting guests at the park, as well as answering any questions that guest may have, and selling and printing photos that are taken at the ride photo booths.
Their job exists to make sure everyone entering the park has a bracelet, aid the guest and make their experience as easy as possible, and offer guests a unique keepsake to remember their wonderful day.
A select number of interested individuals also have the opportunity of being a costume character, which involves wearing a costume and walking throughout the park meeting guests.
Duties and responsibilities
Gate Duties
  • Checking Bracelets
    • Verifying that only guests with a bracelet of the right color of the day come into the park.
  • Checking Coolers and bags
    • Inspecting that items that come into the park are allowed into the park.
    • Working with security to confiscate disallowed items.
  • Stroller, Wagon, Wheelchair, Scooter Rentals
    • Handling sales for the rentals.
    • Issuing and returning rentals.
    • Responsibly holding IDs as collateral.
  • Cleaning
    • Making sure the Gate always looks its best.
    • Cleansing the mobility devices.
    • Maintaining the flowers around the gate.
    • Cleaning Main Booth windows.
    • Sweeping the courtyard.
  • Guest Relations
    • Greeting the guests as they come in.
    • Offer them a Park map.
    • Ask them if they have any questions.
    • Check the heights of the guest when needed by the main booth cashiers.

Photo Booth Duties
  • Selling Photos
    • Using a cash register.
    • Handling money.
    • Using a credit card machine.
  • Printing Photos
    • Printing and preparing the photos for the guest.
    • Providing guest with great service.
  • Cleaning
    • Sweeping the floor of the photo booth.
    • Cleaning the counter.
    • Making sure the photo booth looks its best.

Costume Character Duties
  • Wearing the costume
    • Walking around in the costume.
    • Talking in gestures.
    • Usually in the costume for at most an hour.
  • Meeting Guests
    • Meeting guests.
    • Taking photos with guests, children and adults.
    • Being responsible around guests in the costume.
    • Having fun with guests.

Comply with all policies and procedures of Funtown Splashtown USA
  • Follow all policies and procedures of the Department.
  • Maintain professional appearance following all uniform guidelines.
  • Attend all required department, interdepartmental, and park trainings.
  • You may be assigned to other duties as necessary.

Qualifications
  • A cash attendant must be at least 14 years of age.
  • Should be charismatic and approachable
  • Cashier experience is not required and no other minimum qualifications necessary. Will train the right candidate.

Working conditions
  • You may be in direct/indirect sunlight for long periods of time. We operate in most summer weather conditions and since you are often outside, and Maine weather is unpredictable, we ask that you dress appropriately and are prepared for light to heavy rain, changes in temperature, and humidity.
  • They may work at many different positions during the course of the day.
  • This job may require a worker to be in a costume outdoors in the summer.

Physical requirements
  • They must have the ability to carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Applicant should be able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
  • This job may be physically demanding when wearing a costume, at which point, the position receives frequent breaks. You would be wearing an oversized costume and standing and walking around the park for certain periods of time.
