This is a Per Diem position

  • Is proficient at 98% of venipunctue attempts. Assures that specimen collected is

  • appropriate to test required (collect tube, amount of blood)

  • Follows protocol for patient identification and specimen labeling at all times.

  • Understands consequence of deviation from protocol.

  • Takes a leadership role in orientation and training of new Associates and students.

  • Demonstrates consistent ability to perform venipunctures on infants and children as well as adults.

  • Performs all collections in timely manner.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper utilization of various types of equipment , ie syringe, butterflies, lancets, vacutainers, blood culture equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • To be a graduate of an approved Phlebotomy program and/or have a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in an acute care hospital

  • To have excellent customer service skills. To have excellent organizational skills
