We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist that will allow you the opportunity to put your expertise to work in a dynamic and meaningful way? Do you have a passion for healthcare and a desire to travel? If so, we have a rewarding position waiting for you!
SUMMARY: LAUKOA is currently seeking applicants to fill our Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist positions located throughout the State of Florida in support of the Medical Readiness Services for the Florida Army National Guard. Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays. All work is on a part-time "as needed" basis. We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Complete event set up, take down and maintenance of workstation equipment
• Provide Phlebotomy Services/Blood Draws to include specimen labeling and packaging
• Preform Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Complete Vitals manually to include Blood Pressure, Height & Weight
• Complete vision screenings using the Snellen Eye Chart
• Maintain accurate data on vials, sign-in sheets, requisitions, etc.
• Scan through documentation to identify Soldier's required screening(s)/test(s)
• Safeguard all patient information
• Ensures all actions are in compliance with HIPAA and other appropriate federal and state laws and regulations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• CPR/BLS Certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy Certification (if doing blood draws)
• A valid US driver's license
• Excellent customer service skills and experience interacting with difficult clientele
• Utilization of universal precautions for patient care
• 1+ years' experience in a medical/dental setting
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly
• Ability to concentrate for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speed
• Must submit no less than two professional references with resume
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or equivalent training
• Experience working in a Military setting
• Preferred skill to have is working knowledge of the regulations and policies that apply to Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) and deployment.
