Beloit Health System is looking to add Phlebotomists to our Team!Shift: 1stSchedule: Varied start times on 1st shiftHours per week: 28 - 32Benefits Status: Benefits EligibleDepartment: LaboratoryThe Phlebotomist is responsible for proper identification of patients, skillful performance of phlebotomy procedures, and the transport and processing of specimens. Performs waived procedures unsupervised under the direction of a technologist or laboratory management.Performs assigned pre-analytical processes which include, but are not limited to: processing orders from the EMR; determining specimen requirements; and phlebotomy proceduresAccesses, inputs and retrieves information from the EMR. Performs phlebotomy in multiple settingsPerforms phlebotomy on patients by the appropriate method, using aseptic techniques, and within appropriate timeframes. Obtain throat and nasal collections.Properly identifies patients prior to phlebotomy with two (2) means of identification.Properly labels all specimens with required information at patient's sideDisposes of contaminated sharps, blood and/or body fluids in accordance with Infection Prevention policies.Performs assigned waived testingPerforms daily, weekly, monthly, and as needed preventative maintenance according to schedule.
