Teaching expectations include two courses per semester, which may include core disciplinary courses, elective courses that speak to their research field, as well as contribution to NU-Q's broader curricular needs. This could include the required Ways of Knowing course, the Doha Seminar honors course, graduate seminars, executive education classes, or courses qualifying for our university's growing number of interdisciplinary minors, such as Africana Studies, AI and Media Studies, Film and Design, Media and Politics, Middle East Studies, and Strategic Communication. There are also opportunities to collaborate with NU-Q's Institute for Advanced Study of the Global South, Artificial Intelligence and Media Lab, and Media Majlis Museum.

We are committed to excellence in research and teaching, a vibrant student life, and high-level undergraduate student research and media making, particularly on the Global South. Located at the confluence of continents, NU-Q is a diverse global community with approximately 500 students from around 60 countries.
NU-Q provides competitive compensation and benefits. The medium of instruction is English, but proficiency in Arabic or another regional language is an advantage at NU-Q. Candidates with experience in US higher education as well as in the Arab region are particularly encouraged to apply. Northwestern University in Qatar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Applications received by October 15, 2026, will receive the highest priority. The search will continue until the position is filled or the search closed.
