Job description

Corin is seeking a skilled, highly motivated Clinical Research and Data Engineer to join our Global Clinical Innovation team. Integration of digital clinical data across the patient journey is creating new opportunities to revolutionize patient treatment, clinical research, and augment decision making in orthopaedics. This role will apply advanced data analytics and modeling to generate innovative clinical research and insights on Corin’s hip and knee arthroplasty technologies. Reporting into the VP of Global Clinical Innovations and part of a global team, the role is open to Raynham based candidates.

The key responsibilities of the Clinical Research and Data Engineer are/to:

  • Lead execution of clinical research projects, from problem definition, study goals, data cleaning, analysis, reporting and presentation to internal and external stakeholders
  • Data analysis and visualization, statistical testing, regression analysis, machine learning and deep learning model development and evaluation
  • Contribute to modelling and analysis of:
    • 3D computer-assisted preoperative planning and intraoperative robotics data analysis
    • Hip and knee dynamics and kinematics
    • Patient outcomes, included patient reported outcomes and activity data
    • Healthcare economics
    • Business analytics
    • Other complex multi-variable and multi-variate questions
  • Clinical study and project management, communication with study sites, research coordinators and surgeons/KOLs
  • Gain an expert knowledge of hip and knee anatomy and arthroplasty procedures and technology used by Corin and throughout industry
  • Be a team player amongst a team of talented data scientists, engineers, researchers, and product specialists
  • Support regulatory filings, clinical data requirements, collection, and reporting
  • Assist in the CorinRegistry research database development and maintenance
  • Assist in development and maintenance of Corin’s analytic code repositories

The ideal Clinical Research and Data Engineer will have/be:  

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering, Science, Data or Computer Science or similar
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar or relative role (Master’s and PhD Graduates accepted)
  • Experience with programming environments for data processing, manipulation, analysis and graphing, such as R, Python, SPSS
  • Experience in data science, statistical modelling and analysis, multivariate statistics, regression analysis, analysis of variance, machine learning
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to write research papers for publication in peer reviewed journals
    • Ability to present research findings at local and international conferences
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
  • Highly motivated to challenge historically accepted truths with data driven decision making
  • Experience in orthopaedics or other medical device industry
  • Experience with image processing and manipulation software (ScanIP, Mimics), 3D CAD measurements (SolidWorks)
  • Knowledge of databases Azure web environment (Cosmos Database, Azure ML)
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL queries
  • Experience in 3D rigid transformations
  • Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning techniques

The base pay range for this position is $80,000-150,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
