Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking two Systems Engineering Manager 3 supporting Marine Systems, reporting to the Program-aligned Engineering Director to support business growth. The selected individuals will lead a team aligned to the specific program within the Regional Strike Launcher Programs (RSLP) portfolio.
The selected individuals will be responsible for leading both managers and individual contributors as part of a geographical distributed, multi-discipline engineering team responsible for engineering development and production support. Both positions can be performed from Sunnyvale, CA, Annapolis, MD, or Ocean Springs, MS.
RSLP Integration Manager 3
In this role, the Systems Engineering Manager 3 will be lead an organization of approximately 60 individuals with the following responsibilities:
  • Lead a management team with disciplines of of Test Engineering, Performance Analysis (CFD/M&S), Structural Analysis, and Specialty/Safety Engineering
  • Lead a team individual contributors directly (Engineering Program Managers, Chief Engineers, System Architects, SEIT Leads)
  • Oversee execution on one or more engineering development or production programs
  • Lead staffing strategy and implementation across responsible functional areas
  • Drive engineering strategy and practices pertinent to the Marine Systems E&S organization, including but not limited to investments and talent strategy
  • Drive predictable financial and program results
  • Support department initiatives, forecasting and recruiting, technology roadmap creation, and champion continuous process improvements
  • Position requires travel up to 25% of the time to support distributed team

RSLP Product Manager 3
In this role, the Systems Engineering Manager 3 will be lead an organization of approximately 35 individuals with the following responsibilities:
  • Lead a management team aligned to missile launching and handling products
  • Lead a team individual contributors directly (Engineering Program Managers, Chief Engineers, System Architects, SEIT Leads)
  • Oversee execution on one or more engineering development or production programs
  • Lead staffing strategy and implementation across responsible functional areas
  • Drive engineering strategy and practices pertinent to the Marine Systems E&S organization, including but not limited to investments and talent strategy
  • Drive predictable financial and program results
  • Support department initiatives, forecasting and recruiting, technology roadmap creation, and champion continuous process improvements
  • Position requires travel up to 25% of the time to support distributed team

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 8 years of experience; OR a Master's Degree in STEM with 6 years of experience; OR a PhD in STEM with 3 years of experience.
  • U.S Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • 3 years of professional experience in the defense or aerospace industries.
  • 2 years demonstrated success managing technical teams.
  • 2 years of experience working in a technical role.
  • Experience with proposals and Earned Value Management.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Ability to work on site at selected location full time.

Preferred Qualifications (RSLP Integration manager):
  • Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline (preferred Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
  • Experience with Structural Analysis, Test Engineering, Specialty Engineering, and/or Performance Analysis (CFD/M&S)
  • Experience managing large control accounts with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and technical performance
  • Experience as a Technical Lead, Project Manager, or other demonstrated leadership role related to program execution
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development and verification, or and technical project management experience preferred
  • Understanding and knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) techniques and activities.

Preferred Qualifications (RSLP Product Manager 3)
  • Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline (preferred Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
  • Experience with product line management and product line engineering
  • Experience as a HW lead, Chief Engineer over a product or product line on large EMD programs
  • Experience with Missile Launcher and Handling principals of operation and design
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development and verification, or and technical project management experience preferred

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $289,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
