Job description

Description
The Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Case Western Reserve University, is seeking graduate students currently pursuing a Master of Science in Statistics to assist with data analysis and research support for nurses in Hong Kong. These nurses are working on evidence-based or research-focused projects, and the selected graduate students will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting the data they have collected.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with nurses in Hong Kong on various evidence-based or research-focused projects.
  • Assist in cleaning and checking data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Help nurses define variables of interest for their research.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis for each assigned project, including descriptive statistics (means, standard deviations, frequencies), t-tests, Mann-Whitney U-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regressions.
  • Perform qualitative analysis, as needed for each assigned project, including content analysis and coding using NVivo15 software.
  • Assist with the interpretation of project results and findings.
  • Provide remote support, coordinating work around your own schedule.

Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in the Master of Science or PhD in Statistics program at Case Western Reserve University.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and quantitative methods is required as this will be the majority of the work.
  • Experience with SPSS is required.
  • Experience with R and RStudio for statistical analysis is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with qualitative analysis, particularly using NVivo15 software, is preferred but not required.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to clean and manage data effectively is essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with nursing professionals.
  • Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
