Position Title: Faculty and Program Chair, Organizational Leadership & Innovation (OLI)
Department: Business, Technology, and Online Programs
Reports To: Reporting to the Dean of Business, Technology, and Online Programs
FLSA Status: Faculty
Pay Grade: Nine-month, tenure track eligible position; Salary commensurate with education and experience; Summer contract extensions as program needs dictate; Excellent benefits
Position Summary
Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative individual to assist in creating, leading, and teaching with a new baccalaureate program in Organizational Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists in creating a truly innovative program;
  • Teaching upper and lower division coursework in business and management disciplines;
  • Developing and redeveloping curricula;
  • Facilitating courses in various delivery modalities;
  • Actively engaging in a comprehensive assessment model and using results to enhance program and course level outcomes;
  • Serving on assigned committees;
  • Cultivating external business relationships; forming and coordinating the activities of an Organizational Leadership Advisory Board;
  • Coordinating textbook selection process; developing and executing growth strategies while maintaining quality outcomes;
  • Coordinating marketing and recruiting efforts;
  • Engaging in student advising; conducting Organizational Leadership faculty meetings;
  • Preparing reports and other documentation as required by the Division, College, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and accrediting agencies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctorate degree with a major Leadership/Organizational Behavior/Management/ Human Resources Management from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching experience;
  • Demonstrated ability working with culturally diverse populations; Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Experience working effectively within and leading teams;
  • Relevant professional experience; Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one's value to the institution;
  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) minimum educational credentials are met.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching experience at the Associate and Baccalaureate levels;
  • Experience working effectively within and leading teams;
  • Management experience inside and outside of academia;
  • Comfort facilitating technical and nontechnical oriented courses;
  • Experience meeting deadlines, Constructively manages conflict;
  • Committed to being a lifelong learner;
  • Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching experience with non-traditional students and applied management coursework;
  • Experience developing and delivering online courses; Experience in promoting of and/or recruiting for academic programs.

Physical Demands
Ability to transverse the campus and classroom, handling various items, final dexterity, vision, hearing, talking, and ability to drive to off campus classes/meetings as needed.
