A PhD in Infectious Disease is a doctoral-level program focused on the study of microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites, that cause diseases in humans, animals, or plants. Graduates often work in academic research, public health, pharmaceuticals, or governmental agencies, developing ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat infectious diseases.
