March Wellness & Fitness Center offers health and fitness programs, based in science, that are designed to strengthen and nurture all aspects of your daily life - no matter what your state of health or stage of life - in a safe, supportive and motivating environment.

Function/Duties of Position
  • Provide personal training services by developing exercise prescriptions and programs for members on a one-on-one basis. Prescribe flexibility, cardiovascular, and strength training exercises to assist members in goal achievement. Maintain member information and tracking. Build a repeat clientele and recruit new clientele.
  • Assist in planning, coordination, presentation and promotion of programs, classes, and events. Design and lead special programs as necessary. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge, ability and implementation of all polices and procedure related to the Fitness operations. Maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Respond to all emergencies.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related health & wellness field.
  • Experience providing strength training, cardiovascular, and flexibility training principles and techniques.

  • Skill in exercise testing and evaluation of test data.

  • Experience in evaluating medications, contraindications and risk factors.
  • Hold and maintain a NCCA accredited certification through a national organization such as ACSM, NSCA, NASM, ACE.

  • BLS HeartCode or CPR, AED certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to communicate to members and staff in a courteous, friendly and professional

  • manner.

  • Ability to project and promote a healthy image

  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in exercise science or related field.

  • Two years of experience in the fitness industry. 
  • BLS HeartCode and First Aid certification.
Additional Details

This position requires a high level of physical activity, including standing for extended periods of time, demonstrating equipment use, and spotting. Ability to lift a minimum of 80 pounds essential.
