Key Responsibilities

The position will involve leadership, business development, project management, and coordination and implementation of project work associated with multimedia (air, water, and waste) environmental regulatory compliance, permitting, and environmental site assessments in the industrial/commercial, government, mining, and energy sectors.

  • Will lead and help build the Natural Resources and/or Surface Water Service Lines in the Arizona Operation.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff to develop technical capabilities and skillsets.
  • Directs and supervises technical assignments (both field and office) and manages entire projects or specific elements of projects.
  • Extensive background in the identification, interpretation, adoption and integration of the State, Federal and Tribal regulations.
  • Provide technical review for projects to comply with environmental laws, company standards, contract requirements and related specifications.
  • Prepare proposals and assists in preparation of large-scale proposals.
  • Use Federal laws including NEPA, Executive Orders, regulations, policies, procedures, notices, advisory material and other technical materials to give advice, prepare permit applications and obtain permits.
  • Will work collaboratively with various project teams throughout the company and a variety of clients in the public and private sectors and will handle concurrent assignments.
  • Will perform business development and marketing activities to capture new clients for Wood and maintain existing clients.
Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor's and Master's degree in environmental science or similar.
  • PE (Arizona) desired.
  • 15+ years' experience in environmental and regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Demonstrated scientific or engineering expertise with environmental regulations, with an emphasis on multimedia (air, water, and waste) environmental management regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with permitting and regulatory compliance under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA); Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA); Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA); Clean Water Act (CWA); Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA); Clean Air Act (CAA); and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
  • Extensive experience with developing stormwater pollution prevention plans and spill prevention, control, and counter measures plans.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong writing skills required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills.
  • Strong background providing environmental consulting services to clients in the mining, industrial/commercial, energy and government sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully as a team leader and promote team objectives
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
