Summary

As an Environmental Specialist, you will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role partners with operations and cross-functional teams to promote environmental stewardship, maintain permits and reporting requirements, improve sustainability initiatives, and support a culture of environmental responsibility across the site.

Responsibilities
  • Help design and implement environmental training programs and awareness initiatives (e.g., New Hire Orientation, toolbox talks, refresher training, and compliance training)
  • Develop, update, and manage work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to environmental processes.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and detailed reports related to inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance matters
  • Review and maintain understanding of permit applications and requirements related to air emissions, storm water, wastewater, and waste management
  • Implement and maintain spill prevention programs, hazardous waste management procedures, and related compliance programs
  • Evaluate environmental incidents, complete investigations, and prepare incident reports with corrective actions.
  • Maintain working knowledge of production processes to support training, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Support waste reduction, recycling, stormwater management, and sustainability initiatives
  • Participate in ISO 14001 certification activities and lead continuous improvement efforts related to environmental management systems
  • Perform internal audits of training programs and operational departments to ensure compliance with environmental standards
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain environmental data such as air emissions, waste generation, wastewater, and stormwater results.
  • Manage inspection schedules and reporting for environmental programs including SPCC, storm water, and environmental equipment
  • Submit Electronic Approvals (EAโ€™s) as needed for maintenance or environmental project support
  • Manage multiple environmental projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and priorities
  • Communicate and complete requests from Headquarters in South Korea in a timely manner
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Purchasing, and leadership on environmental initiatives
  • Maintain cleanliness at the worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field required; or equivalent relevant experience
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, reporting requirements, and industrial compliance programs
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and environmental impacts preferred
Experience
  • 1 to 3+ years of experience evaluating, implementing, and improving environmental programs in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with regulatory inspections, audits, and environmental reporting preferred.
  • Experience with waste management, storm water, air compliance, or sustainability programs preferred.
  • Certifications related to environmental analysis, regulations, or reporting preferred
