Venable LLP's Intellectual Property Litigation Group seeks a registered patent agent with a Ph.D. in Chemistry to join the group in the New York or Washington, D.C. office.

The qualified candidate is a registered patent agent with a Ph.D. in Chemistry and experience working with sophisticated technologies involving pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related disciplines. We are open to candidates across a range of experience levels. The ideal candidate is interested in applying their deep scientific and technical expertise to support complex patent litigation and other intellectual property matters involving life sciences technologies. Prior experience with patent litigation, patent prosecution, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, or the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or chemical industries is preferred but not required.

Candidates must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and possess outstanding academic credentials, strong writing skills, and sharp analytical ability. All submissions must include a brief cover letter indicating office of interest and undergraduate and graduate school transcripts.
