In this role, you will be a senior Solutions Consultant supporting pharma, biotech, medtech, and CRO clients. While you do not need to be a scientist, you should understand how Life Sciences organizations operate.

To be successful in this role, you need

  • Deep and recent expertise in the Life Sciences industry that is demonstrated through knowledge of Life Sciences business processes such as Clinical Development, Quality Management, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Manufacturing, and/or Medical Affairs.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or contract research organizations.
  • Understanding of GxP environments, FDA regulations, 21 CFR Part 11, and validated system requirements strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in an enterprise software sales position OR a client-facing technology advisory role within a Life Sciences institution or ISV (e.g., in transformation, architecture, or strategy).
  • Technical depth to respond to all functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
  • Ability to strategically problem-solve by thinking outside-the-box to create innovative solutions that address complex Life Sciences' challenges.
  • Technical expertise to identify how Appian can fit into the wider organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience with customer interaction, requirements analysis, and presentations
  • Ability to have technical discussions with Appian's product team.
  • Familiarity with production environments (application servers, web servers, databases)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years as a successful Pre-Sales Engineer OR 6+ years in a Professional Services/Consulting role, with a significant focus (3+ years) in the Life Sciences Industry
  • Up to 70% travel to customer locations throughout the assigned region

You may also have:

  • An advanced degree (MS, MBA, PharmD, MPH, or PhD)
  • The ability to fluently speak a second language, preferably Portuguese

The base salary range per provided represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant work experience, qualifications, internal peer equity, and market and business conditions that exist when extending an offer. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a commission plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
