HPC & AI Engineer (PhD)
SOFTWARE SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER
The Role:
AMD's server software and solutions engineering team is seeking a senior engineer to lead the enablement and optimization of HPC and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions on AMD EPYC processors. This role requires deep expertise in x86 architecture and hands on experience with HPC applications, AI frameworks, and models and their deployment at production level clusters. You will collaborate with product, marketing, and silicon development teams to shape strategies for performance optimization, competitive analysis, and end-customer application optimization. This position is based in Santa Clara or Austin.

The ideal candidate is a strong team player and thrives in collaboration and innovation, playing a crucial role in optimizing and showcasing the full capabilities of AMD products through advanced software and solutions, while actively influencing the next generation of product development.
Preferred Experience:
  • Comprehensive understanding of x86 computing architecture
  • Proven expertise in software-level code optimization and tuning.
  • Strong familiarity with system level profiling (uProf/Vtune/etc) and interpretation of perf metrics.
  • Well versed with the current and emerging AI tools such as claude, curser.
  • Contribution to big HPC code bases in CPU/GPU is a plus.
