Job description

The Healthcare Investment Banking team is responsible for the origination and execution of all investment banking transactions by Societe Generale Americas. The emphasis will be the broader Healthcare sector within Investment Banking with a focus on Biotech/Life Sciences.  The group is fully integrated into the broader bank and will work closely with our product group and on a cross-border basis with groups in Europe and Asia.

  • Screening and identifying potential banking opportunities across the biotech universe
  • Conducting rigorous scientific, clinical, and commercial due diligence for drugs in development
  • Participating in company meetings and industry conferences
  • Contributing to the development of the team's analytical and technical tools
  • Contributing to the buildout and implementation of the firm's proprietary AI-enabled data and analytical system
  • Preparing detailed quarterly updates on biotech VC/IPO and M&A/BD landscapes (familiarity with pitchbook is a plus)
  • Advanced degree: MD or PhD in a relevant field, e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biostatistics, etc.
  • Track record of high academic achievement
  • Ability to interpret scientific literature and analyze clinical data
  • Exceptional quantitative skills. Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, and Claude/ChatGPT is essential
