SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, and within established policies and procedures, performs scientific investigative research in biomedical areas related to patient care. Responsibilities include: Participating in the design of experimental protocols and research directions Developing new procedures to carry out established research objectives Collecting and analyzing data using bioinformatic, phylogenetic, and statistical methodology Executing existing protocols and developing new experimental methodologies Researching literature in the field Writing manuscripts, presentations, and grants in line with the research goals and based on the research performed Brown University Health employees are expected to successfully role model the organization's values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence as these values guide our everyday actions with patients, customers, and one another. The successful applicant will have interests in cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary pathobiology, and independent research concepts. Molecular biology, nanoparticle/nanobiology, primary cell culture and purification/isolation from human samples and animals, and development of conditional, inducible transgenic animal models are a plus.
