Job description

  • Act as the primary clinical/scientific resource to healthcare professionals in the territory regarding disease state and Eisai products.
  • Exchange accurate, updated clinical, scientific, and medical information between KOLs/investigators and Medical Affairs and development groups.
  • Establish and maintain peer relationships with KOLs in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
  • Present clinical and scientific data on Eisai products and relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Support assigned professional congresses and coordinate MSL congress coverage activities.
  • Identify and report scientific, clinical, and research insights from KOLs to Medical Affairs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of disease states, study methodology, clinical information, and product data.
  • Execute approved medical platforms, strategies, and MSL initiatives.
  • Serve as a scientific subject-matter resource to cross-functional partners.
  • Teach, coach, and mentor less experienced MSLs; assist with supervision and performance evaluation.
  • Lead or participate in special projects, leadership, and strategic planning.
  • Facilitate review and follow-up of Investigator-Initiated Studies and assist with Eisai-sponsored trials.
  • Provide recommendations for site selection and scientific expertise to investigators in company-sponsored studies.
Requirements
  • Advanced terminal degree in medical or health sciences or a related field, such as MD/DO, PhD, or PharmD.
  • At least 2 years of industry, clinical research, or related experience in a scientific or clinical setting.
  • At least 3 years of experience for the Sr. MSL title.
  • MSL experience in neurology or complex disease states preferred.
  • Prior dementia or Alzheimer’s disease research experience strongly preferred.
  • Established relationships with neurology KOLs and knowledge of institutions focused on Alzheimer’s disease preferred.
  • Broad-based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge.
  • Clinical trial development and drug launch experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, pharmaceutical regulations and compliant practices, and OIG guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate complex data sets and educate top KOLs as a scientific peer.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to tailor information to the audience.
  • Strategic conversation skills and ability to assess and adapt to issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while following compliance and regulatory policies.
  • Ability to identify and communicate opportunities and challenges and solve problems in the territory.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment with cross-functional commercial partners.
  • Computer skills including word processing, slide presentation, spreadsheets, and video conferencing applications.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel approximately 60% of the time, including air travel, overnight travel, and occasional weekends.
  • Ability to engage in person with HCPs and third parties and complete required credentialing or entry requirements, including possible vaccination attestations or proof.
