As a pharmacy technician trainee, your job duties are to assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, to do inventory and restock items in the pharmacy, and to handle billing and insurance documentation. Your primary responsibilities are to help the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who supervise you with a variety of tasks, from answering patient questions to sorting medications to data entry. To be a good pharmacy technician trainee, you need excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, and an understanding of basic medical terminology including generic and brand names of prescription medications.

Summary: Provides world-class pharmacy services while assisting the Pharmacist in assigned areas of drug procurement, preparation, storage, inventory control, distribution, orders, and dispensing.
Primary Functions:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent GED required. Successful completion of algebra, clerical, and science courses preferred. Computer classes and experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Must have or be eligible for an Indiana Board of Pharmacy Tech in Training license or a current State Board of Indiana license as a Pharmacy Technician or Intern. A Tech in Training program is offered internally. Full Technician or Intern licensure must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
Experience: One year pharmacy experience and/or pharmacy technician oriented formal class work preferred.
