Under the direction of the Supervisor of Pharmacy Technicians within the Department of Pharmacy Services, is responsible for receiving and stocking medications from wholesalers and distributers. Assists pharmacy technicians with central pharmacy operations such as medication pre-packing and pharmacy delivery. Also serves in a back-up pharmacy buyer capacity with ordering and procurement of medications for patient use across the organization. Maintains high standards within the department and executes pharmacy policies and procedures in accordance with Joint Commission standards, Institute for Safe Medication Practices standards and Federal and State regulations.
Compensation Pay Range:
$24.39 - $32.83
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Receiving Inventory: Responsible for receiving and stocking drug shipments from wholesalers and distributers.
2. Drug Ordering: Responsible for performing as back-up to the Pharmacy buyer with ordering and procurement of medications for patient use across organizations
3. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT: Review and optimize inventory in Carousels performing expiration date checking to assigned Pharmacy Locations. Helps modify and assign products to the Pharmacy Inventory in Carousels. Assists with yearly Pharmacy Inventory tasks.
4. Drug Recall Management: Assists the Pharmacy buyer with reviewing and resolving Drug Recalls to quarantine recalled product.
5. PHARMACY TECHNICIAN DUTIES: Required to perform pharmacy technician duties as needed.
a. Safeguards the privacy and security of patient information. The employee complies with policies and procedures relating to SSH's privacy and security programs.
b. Brings potential compliance issues to a manager, supervisor, director or VP.
c. Complies with the mandatory education requirements of the compliance, privacy and security programs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education - Preferred
High school level of education
Required Certifications: Pharmacy Technician - Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy AND Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm. No weekends and holidays.
