As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you will be training to play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient

operation of our pharmacy. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy directly support patient

safety and satisfaction. By managing prescriptions, coordinating with healthcare providers, and assisting

patients with insurance and copayment support, you help deliver high-quality, personalized care that

What You’ll be Doing:


During your significant training and shadowing you will learn to:

• Learn how to provide friendly service in person, over the phone, and through written communication.

• Answer telephone calls professionally and promptly.

• Learn how to navigate insurance plans and accurately bill the appropriate insurance, including

coordination of benefits and manual billing.

• Learn how to assist patients with copayment assistance programs

• Understand how to maintain and update patient health, allergy, demographic, and insurance records.

• Work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and learn how to comply with all relevant

laws.

• Watch patient facing technicians refer clinical questions to pharmacists.

• Learn how to process prescriptions for pharmacist review and assist in verifying authenticity.

• Shadow dispensing, and compounding of specialty medications.

• Support packaging medications for shipment after dispensing is complete

• Learn about new and discontinued medications.

• Shadow employees collaborating with provider offices to resolve patient-specific issues.


After receiving your temporary tech license, you will continue in your role as a Pharm Tech Trainee, but will

have the opportunity to complete the following with your temporary tech license:

• Provide friendly service in person, over the phone, and through written communication.

• Initiate patient intake by gathering and watching other enter detailed information into the pharmacy

system.

• Process prescriptions for pharmacist review and assist in verifying authenticity.

• Collaborate with provider offices to resolve patient-specific issues.

• Refer clinical questions to pharmacists.

• Maintain and update patient health, allergy, demographic, and insurance records
