Job description

Oncology Clinical Pharmacist

Location: Champaign, IL

Compensation: $123,399–$169,673 base salary (commensurate with experience) + 10% bonus + $10,000 sign-on bonus + relocation assistance available

A well-established, community-based hematology/oncology practice is seeking an experienced Oncology Clinical Pharmacist to lead pharmacy operations within a medically integrated, patient-focused environment.

Position Overview

This pharmacist will serve as the sole clinical pharmacist and operational leader, overseeing chemotherapy compounding services and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role also includes management of a team of 4 pharmacy technicians supporting a 20-chair infusion center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily chemotherapy compounding and sterile pharmacy operations
  • Review chemotherapy medication orders, dosing, and treatment protocols
  • Ensure compliance with USP 797, USP 800, and sterile compounding standards
  • Evaluate patient clinical data (labs, vitals) for treatment appropriateness
  • Collaborate with physicians on oncology treatment plans
  • Manage and direct pharmacy technician workflow and compounding operations
  • Support safe, accurate, and timely delivery of oncology therapies

Required Qualifications

  • PharmD (or equivalent pharmacy degree)
  • Active Illinois Pharmacist License
  • Clinical pharmacy experience in hematology/oncology
  • Hazardous drug/chemotherapy compounding experience
  • Experience with chemotherapy protocols and order verification
  • Experience in sterile compounding and regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic / Epic Beacon
  • Experience in a QOPI-certified oncology practice
  • Experience with medically integrated dispensing (MID)

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • No nights, weekends, or on-call
