What does a pharmacist specializing in hormone replacement do?

A Pharmacist specializing in Hormone Replacement works with patients and healthcare providers to manage and dispense hormone replacement therapies, such as estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone. They provide counseling on medication use, monitor for side effects and drug interactions, and help ensure that hormone therapies are used safely and effectively. These pharmacists may also educate patients about lifestyle changes, proper medication administration, and the importance of regular follow-up with their healthcare team.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a pharmacist specializing in hormone replacement therapy?

To thrive as a Pharmacist in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), you need a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, state licensure, and in-depth knowledge of endocrinology and hormone medications.
