Overview
We are seeking a Sr Procurement Administrator - Pharmaceutical and Construction to join our team in Guaynabo, PR. This role will be responsible for purchasing materials, equipment and services. In addition, you will issue purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and processing invoices.
Our office is in Guaynabo, PR but the position is expected to be full-time collocated at the client's location in Carolina, PR. The position reports to the Project or Construction Manager working directly with the client.
You will coordinate resources, track daily progress, identify potential delays, and communicate schedule adjustments to all stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will work closely will project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors. You will be the central point for identifying bottlenecks, forecasting impacts, and ensuring all teams operate in a synchronized manner.
Your role
  • Procure construction materials and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Source reliable local and national suppliers, handling both bulk orders and urgent, same day requests.
  • Compare vendor pricing, lead times, and quality to secure the best value for the project.
  • Prepare and process requests for proposals (RFP's), purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating terms and pricing.
  • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor performance, addressing any deficiencies, delays or contract disputes.
  • Track material deliveries and arrange logistics to ensure goods arrive exactly when and where they are needed on the job site.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams to prevent material shortages that could cause construction delays.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with routine or end-of - year inventory counts.
  • Maintain highly organized purchase logs, receipts, and electronic documentation for all transactions.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, terminology, and equipment required on a jobsite.
  • Proficiency with procurement and accounting software as well as strong skills in Excel.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced construction environment.

About you
  • Bachelor's Degree with five years of experience in contract and procurement administration or supply chain, or an associates' degree with seven years of experience in contract and procurement administration.
  • Background in pharmaceutical, heavy industrial, or hi-tech manufacturing is preferred.
  • Without a degree, eleven years of experience of business experience in contract and procurement administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
  • Ability to multitask and able to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Member of a professional procurement or purchasing organization a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
