Position Summary...What you'll do...As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance, while integrating AI/ML components to enhance system intelligence. This role requires strong technical judgment, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving to meet business objectives. You will contribute to engineering excellence through mentorship, innovation, and adherence to best practices, ensuring high-quality, reliable software that supports Walmart’s platform and customer experience goals.

Our team works closely with our US stores and Walmart Health and Wellness business to better serve customers by empowering team members, pharmacies, and clinics with technological innovation. From pharmacies and clinics, to mobile features, Walmart Health and Wellness offers an extensive selection that our customers and patients value, whether they meet with their clinicians online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store.
What you'll do:
  • Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of software features and AI/ML components aligned with platform objectives. 
  • Write clean, efficient code in Java, ensuring maintainability and scalability. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions and define success metrics. 
  • Drive continuous integration, automated testing, and monitoring to maintain high-quality software performance. 
  • Participate in design reviews, mentor peers, and promote engineering best practices. 
  • Manage DevOps processes and proactively address system issues to ensure reliability and uptime. 

What you'll bring:
  • 8+ years of proven experience as a software engineer, including Java proficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and deploy applications and translate requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Strong experience with full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, automated testing, and maintenance. 
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging GenAI tools to enhance software intelligence. 
  • Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools to ensure reliable and scalable deployments. 
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions aligned with business objectives. 
  • Skilled in collaborating across teams to translate complex requirements into technical solutions. 
  • Commitment to engineering excellence through code quality, mentorship, and continuous improvement.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
