Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a 13-week Acute Care/PCU travel assignment on night shift, requiring an active NC or compact RN license and ICU/stepdown experience.

Details
  • Acute Care unit providing care ranging from med/surg to ICU level
  • 30-bed unit with 40+ staff, including charge RN/CNC, RNs/LPNs, and NAs on both day and night shifts
  • Patient ratios of 2-4:1 for stepdown/ICU patients and 5-6:1 for med/surg patients, supported by 2-3 PCTs as appropriate
  • Uses IV pumps, SCDs, Nova Stat glucometer, wound vac, Baxter feeding pump, lift equipment, and Pyxis
  • Utilizes Cerner EMR
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Weekend rotation required (3 Mondays and Fridays per 6-week schedule)
  • Holiday coverage required per staffing matrix
  • Floating to TCU as needed
Requirements
  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required, to be completed prior to end of orientation
  • 2+ years of RN experience required
  • ICU or stepdown experience preferred
  • 1 year of med/surg experience preferred
  • Experience with IV starts, CVL, arterial lines, foley catheters, EKG monitoring, and wound care
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
