Job description


Job Title: Pediatric & Family Medicine Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Providence, RI - free parking
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Tuesday & Thursday: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM; No weekends
Pay: $37.50-$45.00/hour


Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for pediatric and family medicine patients across the lifespan.
  • Assess patients' physical, emotional, developmental, and social needs while developing individualized care plans.
  • Triage patient concerns in person and over the phone.
  • Administer immunizations, medications, respiratory treatments, and other nursing interventions.
  • Educate patients and families on preventive care, chronic disease management, medications, and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, school nurses, specialists, pharmacies, and community resources.
  • Manage clinic workflow by preparing patient charts, reviewing schedules, and coordinating same-day appointments.
  • Document patient assessments, treatments, and interventions accurately within the EMR.
  • Review laboratory and diagnostic results, communicate abnormal findings, and coordinate follow-up care.
  • Support care management initiatives, referrals, prior authorizations, and medication management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, community outreach events, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for medical assistants and ancillary staff.

Required Qualifications
  • Active Rhode Island Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in:
    • Family Medicine
    • Pediatrics
    • Community Health
    • Primary Care
    • Ambulatory Care
  • Recent hands-on experience caring for pediatric patients (children and adolescents).
  • Experience documenting in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR); Epic preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Experience working with underserved or diverse patient populations preferred
