Job description

What a day looks likeYou start your morning in a fully outfitted mobile repair truck, head to a hospital or regional lab, and turn that vehicle into a precision workshop. You inspect surgical instruments, diagnose wear, and restore performance through ultrasonic cleaning, buffing and polishing, bending and shaping, sharpening, adjusting hinge points and serrations, and light brazing. Throughout the day, you collaborate with sterile processing teams and OR staff to deliver fast, compliant repairs that keep cases on schedule.Between jobs, you document invoices and work orders, complete required Customer and regulatory reporting, and close each day with end-of-day activities such as the OAR. When needed, you perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections within your training and capability to keep tools performing at their best.Where you workThis is a field-based role operating primarily from a mobile repair truck at Customer sites. In denser markets, you may also work from regional labs. Expect frequent trips into hospitals from the truck to pick up and return instrument sets.Travel and logisticsDaily driving in a company vehicle within your assigned territoryOccasional overnight travel as business needs ariseBackground Check Notice: If offered this position, STERIS will run a 7 year driving record check, as part of our onboarding process.Safety and complianceOperate the on-location repair truck in accordance with DOT, company, and Customer protocolsFollow all vehicle and equipment safety proceduresUse required PPE and complete safety observations as specified by each siteDeliver work that meets applicable compliance and quality standardsYour toolkitSoldering and light brazing skillsAutomotive repair aptitude helpful for truck/equipment upkeepGrinding, buffing, and polishing proficiencyHands-on experience with surgical instruments and their restorationBackground as a repair technician or similar craft tradeImpact across the territoryBeyond your primary route, you may support other locations within the assigned territory based on service agreements, Customer demand, and staffing levels—wherever your expertise is needed most. #J-18808-Ljbffr
