Job description

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT TECHNICIAN

📍 Mentor, OH 44060

🕒 Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

🏢 Onsite Position


We are seeking a Product Development Technician/ Lab Technician with hands-on experience in formulation, compounding, and laboratory testing within the adhesives, sealants, coatings, rubber, or plastics industry.


This is NOT a Quality Control, Pharmaceutical, Food Science, Environmental Testing, or Clinical Laboratory position. Candidates without direct formulation or product development experience will not be considered.


Key Job Functions:

• Product Formulation & Batch Preparation

• Laboratory Testing & Product Validation

• Technical Documentation & Data Analysis


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience

• Experience with rubber, plastics, compounding, coatings, adhesives, or sealants

• Experience performing ASTM-based testing

• Ability to prepare and mix formulations using laboratory equipment

• Strong technical documentation and reporting skills

• Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• Ability to work safely in laboratory and manufacturing environments

• Comfortable using power tools such as drills, saws, routers, and fabrication equipment

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to independently manage testing activities and communicate results
