Job description

We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to expand our footprint in the industrial automation market. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and driving revenue growth through the sale of control systems and automation solutions to industrial clients. The ideal candidate has a strong technical understanding of automation systems and a proven track record in B2B sales within industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Sales Growth
    • Identify, target, and secure new customers in industrial sectors such as manufacturing, data centers, utilities, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage.
    • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets
    • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (engineering, operations, procurement)
    • Understand customer needs and position tailored automation and control system solutions
    • Act as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the sales cycle
  • Technical Sales & Solution Development
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop customized automation solutions
    • Present technical concepts, proposals, and value propositions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Support proposal development, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations
  • Market Intelligence
    • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies
    • Identify new markets, applications, and partnership opportunities
  • Collaboration & Reporting
    • Work cross-functionally with engineering, project management, and leadership teams
    • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and sales reports
    • Provide regular updates on business performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or technical sales in industrial automation, control systems, or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and HMI systems; pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems; and industrial networking
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into business value
