Job description

As the Associate Director of Data Science, you will play a pivotal role in driving the foundational commercial data and analytic strategy for emerging assets. The Associate Director will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Commercial Operations, Global and Clinical teams as the data science expert supporting pre-launch planning. Exceptional project management, communication skills and ability to deliver high quality insights in a matrixed environment managing multiple stakeholders is key.
This position reports to the Senior Director, Nephrology/Immunology Insights & Analytics.
We are seeking an Associate Director of Commercial Data Science responsible for delivering data-driven insights to support our growing nephrology/immunology franchise. This role involves leading the procurement and execution of data, analytics, and models in preparation for product launch. This role is dynamic, fast paced and requires superior project management skills.
Key responsibilities:
  • Manage data acquisition and analytics to support go to market strategy
  • Support key elements of pre-launch analytics including exploratory data analysis, market definition, patient finding and related analytics
  • Procure, stage, and define data pertinent to pre-launch analytics - e.g., patient level data, lab data, etc.
  • Develop key data inputs and assumptions pertinent to pre-launch forecasting
  • Partner with primary research partners on integration of insight and analytics supporting go to market strategy

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Statistics, Economics, Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical data science, brand analytics, commercial analytics, or a related field, with at least 3 years' experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, R
  • Experience with pharmaceutical data sources such as IQVIA, Komodo, Symphony Claims, and other syndicated resources; strong understanding of Patient/Claims data required.
  • Proven record of leading vendor teams within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Excellent communication, project management and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex analytics into strategic business recommendations.

Minimum $169,222.00 - Maximum $253,000.00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting pay for individuals who are hired in the role to perform in the United States. Other elements may be used to determine actual pay such as the candidate's job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in role. Typically, actual pay will be positioned within the established range, rather than at its minimum or maximum. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with states and local laws.
