Manager, Commercial Insights

What you will do

In this vital role as a Manager, Commercial Insights you will lead the development and delivery of analytics that support executive decision-making across the Neurology & IgG4-RD Business Unit. This role partners closely with brand leadership, including the General Manager, Sales, and Marketing leaders, providing reporting and insights that drive brand strategy, forecast accuracy, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate has strong skills in reporting including data manipulation, SQL, and data visualization, with a proven ability to translate complex datasets into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.

Flexible Commuter role to one of Amgen's offices Deerfield, ILorThousand Oaks, CA. You will work on-site a minimum of 2-3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own executive reporting deliverables, ensuring leadership receives timely, accurate, and actionable insights on product performance, sales effectiveness, and patient services.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to design and deliver reports, dashboards, and presentations that inform brand strategy and operational decisions.
  • Support forecast development and performance tracking, contributing data-driven inputs and monitoring results against baseline assumptions.
  • Conduct SQL-based data pulls, ad hoc analyses, and data validation to answer critical business questions and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define commercial KPIs and reporting frameworks, aligning insights across sales, marketing, and patient services.
  • Manage data from multiple vendors and sources (e.g., hub, specialty pharmacy, claims) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and usability.
  • Create executive-level presentations that transform analytics into concise business narratives for senior leadership discussions.
  • Maintain expertise in internal and syndicated data sources, supporting data stewardship and governance efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 2 years of market research/analytics experience

High school diploma / GED and 10 years of market research/analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, or R for querying and data analysis
  • Proficiency with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Familiarity with pharma datasets including sales, claims, hub, EMR, and patient-level data
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience tailoring insights for senior leadership

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
