THE POSITION
As the Director of Information Technology for the PGCB Bureau of Administration, you will oversee major technology functions that support regulated gaming in Pennsylvania. This position gives you the opportunity to manage systems, guide staff, and support secure data operations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position leads technology programs that support the mission of the PGCB by managing planning, operations, governance, and security for agency IT systems. Work involves guiding staff, overseeing major projects, and ensuring technology resources are used responsibly and effectively. As a Director of Information Technology, you will perform the following duties:
  • IT Leadership: Direct technology programs including planning, governance, project management, and system operations
  • Staff Supervision: Oversee professional IT staff and manage workflow, priorities, and performance evaluations
  • Budget Oversight: Develop and monitor IT budgets while ensuring compliance with fiscal and procurement policies
  • Service Management: Guide service desk operations and ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests
  • Policy Guidance: Interpret regulations, set priorities, and support secure and compliant technology practices
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage procurement, contracts, and relationships with external technology partners

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Eight years of professional experience managing information technology functions, programs, and/or projects for an organization, including 3 years IT project or portfolio management, and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 4 years of supervisory and/or management experience in information technology.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Commonwealth IT experience with IT projects or portfolio management
  • One or more of the following Project Management certifications:
    • PMP
    • CAPM
    • PMI-ACP
    • PfMP
    • PgMP
  • Other certifications in IT Management and Project Management at an equivalent level may be considered, such as:
    • ITIL/ ITIL Master
    • CITM
    • CISO
    • CISM
    • MS DevOps Engineer Expert
