Job description

The Best Players Need the Best People.

This position will be responsible for conceptualizing, creating and distributing compelling content to drive engagement, traffic, conversation and attention around PGA TOUR websites, apps, voice-activated devices, newsletters and other emerging platforms. This position is a passionate storyteller, a creative idea generator and an enthusiastic team player focused on growing the various media platforms for the PGA TOUR. Non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required; Journalism, Media or Communications preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience in in content creation or digital editorial at a sports or media company, publisher, or content agency

  • Strong editorial and visual judgment, with excellent copywriting and content packaging skills

  • Understanding of digital storytelling, audience growth strategies, and platform algorithms

  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, strong writing and editing skills including grammar, style and spelling

  • Background in golf preferred; strong interest in golf required

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Assist in developing, editing and program content for use on PGA TOUR websites, apps, newsletters and other emerging platforms

  • Respond to breaking news promptly, ensuring all platforms are up to date on trending conversations

  • Write and edit news stories under tight deadlines, ensuring accuracy and clarity while covering breaking news events.

  • Produce compelling, timely content that meets industry standards and aligns with Associated Press (AP) style guidelines.

  • Monitor news sources and quickly develop story angles for breaking developments.

  • Maintain high editorial standards, verifying facts and adhering to AP style across all written materials.

  • Collaborate with editors and producers to deliver up-to-the-minute news coverage in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaborate with other content creators to develop weekly newsletter from conceptualization to completion

  • Assist in the curation news and video pages within the app with most relevant content

  • Ensure headlines, URLs and titles are optimized for SEO

  • Proactively collaborate with writes and other content creators to deliver engaging and immersive content across platforms

  • Maintain websites and arenas, including checking of links and updating content

  • Adhere to brand standards and established voice across platforms

  • Participate in regular creative brainstorming and pitch sessions

  • Utilize available data to make or adjust programming decisions across platforms

  • Execute content on behalf of marketing and/or sales initiatives

  • Adapt to changing editorial conditions in a short time frame

  • Special projects or other duties as assigned
