Job description

Pfizer Oncology is building an AI-first R&D engine where artificial intelligence is a foundational capability shaping how medicines are discovered, developed, and delivered to patients. We are seeking AI & Data Engineers to focus on generalist, use case driven AI solutions where process, workflow, and data engineering are as critical as advanced science. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in rapid prototyping environments and enjoy translating real-world problems into practical, AI enabled tools.

In this role, you will partner with scientific, clinical, and operational teams to develop data pipelines, analytics, and machine learning solutions that enhance the effectiveness of Oncology R&D workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and prototype AI enabled solutions supporting Oncology R&D workflows and decision making.

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, feature engineering workflows, and analytical models.

  • Apply machine learning techniques to structured and unstructured healthcare data.

  • Collaborate with scientific and product partners to understand needs and deliver usable tools.

  • Focus on speed, iteration, and usability, with production scaling supported by enterprise Digital teams as appropriate.

  • Contribute to shared engineering standards, documentation, and best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant work experience OR Master's degree and 5+ years of experience OR PhD and 1+ years of experience. Advanced degree in computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, engineering, or a related quantitative or scientific field strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated handson experience building data, analytics, or ML solutions in healthcare, life sciences, or health tech.

  • Strong programming skills and experience with modern data and ML tooling.

  • Ability to rapidly prototype and adapt solutions based on feedback.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on research or clinical workflows.

  • Background in healthcare technology companies or AI startups.

  • Exposure to cloudbased data and ML environments.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $139,100.00 to $231,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
