Associate Scientist, Immunology
Why Patients Need You

As part of the Cell-Mediated Immunoassays (CMI) group, you will contribute to understanding immune responses that drive vaccine efficacy and safety.
What You Will Achieve
As an Associate Scientist in the CMI group, you will play a critical role in generating high-quality cellular immunology data to support Pfizer's clinical vaccine programs. The primary focus of this role is to execute clinical assays, primarily flow cytometry, with the potential to support additional assays such as ELISPOT and ADCC. Beyond routine testing, you will help drive operational excellence by applying 5S, automation, and process optimization to strengthen laboratory workflows.
How You Will Achieve It
  • Perform high-throughput flow cytometry assays to characterize cellular immune responses
  • Support additional cellular immunoassays such as ELISPOT and ADCC as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with GxP and internal SOPs for all laboratory activities
  • Support the qualification of new assays and ensure accurate documentation of experimental work
  • Drive operational improvements, including 5S, laboratory automation, and process optimization, to increase the efficiency and robustness of testing workflows
  • Help uphold quality and compliance across CMI through sound documentation practices, data integrity, and audit-readiness
  • Prepare reagents, maintain inventory, and manage sample workflows efficiently
  • Analyze and interpret assay results and present findings to team members and leadership
  • Collaborate within the CMI group and cross-functionally to support vaccine development programs

Qualifications
Must-Have
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline w/ 0+ to 2 years of experience.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience in immunology or a related field
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs
  • Scientific curiosity and a desire to continuously learn and expand technical expertise

Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with flow cytometry and understanding of its scientific principles
  • Knowledge of immunology and cellular immune responses
  • Familiarity with ELISPOT, ADCC or other biofunctional assays
  • Understanding of relevant statistics and data analysis
  • Experience with laboratory automation and high-throughput workflows
  • Experience with continuous improvement or Lean methodologies (e.g., 5S)
  • Familiarity with LIMS or other electronic laboratory systems
  • Exposure to mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques
  • Prior experience in a clinical or regulated laboratory environment
  • AI fluency, with interest in applying AI and digital tools to workflows

Work Location Assignment: On Premise
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $60,200.00 to $100,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
