Job description

Overview:

Supervise petroleum distribution operations and team performance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient fuel delivery across the network. Provide day to day leadership of the Petroleum Distribution team, oversee dispatch execution and special distribution projects, and partner cross functionally to support system reliability, inventory management, and operational efficiency. Play a critical role in preventing store runouts, supporting petroleum supply objectives, and continuously improving distribution operations.

Responsibilities:

1.    Lead, coach, and develop the Petroleum Distribution team through daily supervision, regular performance feedback, training oversight, and ongoing communication to support engagement, accountability, and skill development.
2.    Oversee daily petroleum distribution and dispatch operations to ensure timely, efficient, and compliant execution of fuel deliveries and related activities.
3.    Serve as the primary escalation point for complex dispatch issues, ensuring effective resolution while maintaining service levels and operational continuity.
4.    Utilize operational metrics and analytics to evaluate dispatch performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive efficiencies in routing, scheduling, and execution.
5.    Ensure petroleum inventory levels are appropriately monitored and managed to prevent store runouts and support business continuity.
6.    Provide supervisory oversight for special distribution activities, including hold down loads, pump outs, and project based deliveries, ensuring coordination, compliance, and timely execution.
7.    Collaborate cross functionally with internal departments to support petroleum projects, system reliability, and resolution of TMS, tank monitoring, UST, and telematics issues.
8.    Support the effective use, configuration, and upkeep of distribution management systems to accommodate operational needs, projects, and business growth.

Qualifications:

(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)


Education


•    High School Diploma/GED required
•    Technical / Trade Training / Sheetz Training required
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration or related field preferred


Experience


•    Minimum 4 years’ experience in transportation, distribution, or operations required 
•    Previous experience with execution or overseeing logistics of time-sensitive operational deadlines required 
•    Previous dispatching experience with terminal management systems (TMS) preferred
•    Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:


•    HM-126F required (provided upon hire)
