Job Summary
The Dispatcher is responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and timely petroleum delivery operations by providing daily pricing information to customers, forecasting customer orders, dispatching orders to NECO Transport Drivers and carriers, and maintaining accurate delivery and billing information. This role requires professional communication, strong attention to detail, effective problem solving, and collaboration with drivers, customers, vendors, managers, and internal departments to support reliable service and operational success.

Primary Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to)
  • Provide daily pricing information to customers by the required deadline.
  • Dispatch orders to NECO Transport Drivers and carriers with clear instructions.
  • Forecast customer orders, obtain tank readings, and update dispatch plans.
  • Enter accurate delivery, billing, pricing, and bill of lading information into required systems.
  • Coordinate with drivers, customers, vendors, Sales, Operations, and other NECO departments.
  • Assist drivers with loading, delivery, unloading, and service-related issues.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, reports, and operational updates for management as requested.
  • Submit required Customs or broker documents electronically when needed.
  • Support safe dispatch practices and timely communication to help drivers complete deliveries safely.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Prior dispatch experience, preferably in petroleum dispatch or petroleum customer service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn and use dispatch, billing, pricing, and related operational systems.
  • Ability to work the assigned schedule consistently and respond to time-sensitive operational needs during scheduled hours.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organization, multitasking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve, research information with limited direction, and provide accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Professional, flexible, and able to work effectively with peers, drivers, customers, vendors, and management.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations.
  • Experience in petroleum dispatch, petroleum transportation, or fuel delivery operations.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Primarily office-based work with frequent computer, phone, email, and dispatch system use.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive keyboard and mouse use.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dispatch environment.
  • May require occasional availability outside standard business hours to support time-sensitive operational needs.
