Product Sales Manager
Summary
Product Sales Manager - Stationary Metrology
Position Summary
The Product Sales Manager - Stationary Metrology is responsible for driving profitable growth and market development for the stationary metrology portfolio, including coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), associated sensors, software, automation solutions, and related services.
This role combines strong commercial leadership with technical understanding of dimensional metrology and manufacturing applications. The Product Sales Manager will work closely with customers, regional sales teams, application engineers, product management, and service organizations to identify opportunities, develop compelling solutions, and successfully convert opportunities into orders.
The successful candidate will act as a subject-matter expert and commercial champion for the stationary metrology portfolio, helping customers improve quality, productivity, process control, and manufacturing performance through advanced measurement solutions.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Sales Growth & Business Development
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue, margin, and market-share objectives for the stationary metrology portfolio.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within target industries and strategic accounts.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and actively manage opportunities from initial qualification through order closure.
  • Support regional sales teams in developing and closing complex or strategically important opportunities.
  • Identify competitive displacement opportunities and develop strategies to win new customers and expand the installed base.

Customer & Application Engagement
  • Engage directly with customers to understand their manufacturing processes, measurement challenges, quality requirements, and business objectives.
  • Translate customer requirements into appropriate stationary metrology solutions.
  • Conduct product presentations, technical discussions, demonstrations, and solution workshops.
  • Work with application engineering and technical specialists to develop complete solutions, including hardware, sensors, software, fixturing, automation, training, and services.
  • Clearly communicate the technical and commercial value of proposed solutions, including productivity improvements, quality benefits, risk reduction, and return on investment.
  • Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders across quality, manufacturing, engineering, operations, and management.

Product & Market Leadership
  • Serve as the sales organization's subject-matter expert for stationary metrology products and applications.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of CMM technology, dimensional inspection, sensors, metrology software, automation, and relevant manufacturing applications.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive products, customer requirements, and emerging technologies.

Sales Enablement
  • Train and support sales teams on product capabilities, applications, competitive positioning, and value-based selling.
  • Participate in joint customer visits and opportunity-development activities with account managers and regional sales teams.
  • Develop and share sales tools, application examples, competitive intelligence, customer success stories, and best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Applications Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Service, Operations, and other business functions.
  • Coordinate internal resources throughout the sales process to provide a high-quality customer experience.
  • Ensure customer expectations regarding technical scope, delivery, installation, acceptance, training, and service are clearly defined before order placement.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical sales, product sales, business development, applications engineering, or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Experience within dimensional metrology, precision measurement, manufacturing technology, industrial automation, machine tools, or a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of consultative and value-based selling.
  • Ability to understand complex customer requirements and translate them into commercially compelling technical solutions.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple opportunities and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to customer locations and company facilities.

Preferred
  • Direct experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and stationary dimensional metrology.
  • Knowledge of tactile, optical, laser, or multisensor measurement technologies.
  • Experience with metrology and quality software.
  • Understanding of GD&T, dimensional inspection, manufacturing processes, and quality-control methodologies.
  • Experience selling capital equipment or complex engineered solutions.
  • Experience with automated or integrated metrology solutions.
  • Familiarity with industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical devices, precision engineering, electronics, energy, or general manufacturing.
