What are pet products?

Pet products are items specifically designed to support the health, comfort, and happiness of pets such as dogs, cats, birds, and small animals. These products include pet food, toys, grooming supplies, bedding, collars, leashes, and health care items. Pet products help owners take better care of their pets by meeting their nutritional, entertainment, and hygiene needs. They are available in pet stores, online, and sometimes in supermarkets, with options for different pet types and preferences.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in pet product development?

Professionals in pet product development often face the challenge of balancing innovative design with safety and regulatory compliance. Ensuring products meet the needs of both pets and their owners requires thorough research, frequent testing, and collaboration with veterinarians or animal behavior experts. Additionally, keeping up with evolving market trends and customer preferences can be demanding, as can coordinating with supply chain and marketing teams to ensure timely product launches. Success in this field often depends on strong communication, adaptability, and a passion for animal welfare.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a pet product manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Pet Product Manager, you need expertise in product development, market analysis, and a background in business or animal sciences. Familiarity with product management tools (like Jira or Asana), data analytics platforms, and certifications such as Certified Product Manager (CPM) are advantageous. Excellent communication, creativity, and a passion for animal welfare are key soft skills that help build stronger products and relationships with stakeholders. These skills ensure the creation of innovative, high-quality products that meet customer needs and drive business growth in the competitive pet industry.

Job description

Must Love Dogs!!
At Tribe Wellness Sales, we're on a mission to help pets live longer, healthier lives through supplements that actually deliver. But here's the catch: too many pet owners grab a product online and then flounder-unsure how to use it or missing the guidance to make it work. That's where you, our Sales Specialist (called a Protocol Review Specialist in our world), make the difference. Without you, pets miss out on better health, owners lose confidence, and our mission stalls. With you? You're the spark that turns a purchase into a transformation-for pets and their people.
What You'll Do:
  • Sell: You'll sell products and services for our pet client, a company built for pet owners, by pet owners, with over a million happy dogs and growing!
  • Grow: Work with a broad range of potential customers, transforming clients' prospects into brand loyalists.
  • Learn: Work closely with our dedicated leaders, leveraging our top-notch training resources to master the art of selling and representing Tribe's ethos.
  • Earn: Operate with no cap on commission, providing limitless earning potential to integrate with our operations seamlessly.
  • Live: Work from home in a global remote environment to have more time for what really matters, because commutes aren't fun.
  • Sales Ethics:We are highly compliant and sell ethically, following all regulatory requirements, never overpromising what a product can do or making unsubstantiated claims.
  • Brand Integrity: We partner with brands that care about what their selling, working with those who sell products of the highest quality and follow strict regulations.

What In It For You
Choose the pay structure that best fits your goals - both offer uncapped commission with estimated first-year on-target earnings of $55,000-$100,000, and unlimited upside based on performance.
Hourly + Commission: A guaranteed hourly base rate (set at your state's minimum wage) paid every pay period, plus 4%-12% commission on net sales paid every two weeks. Your hourly pay is steady income you can count on - commission is earned on top of it, never against it.
Higher-Commission Plan: Maximize your earning potential with 14%-17% commission on net sales (roughly 20%-25% of gross sales), paid every two weeks. This plan includes a built-in earnings floor: if commissions ever fall below your state's minimum wage for hours worked, we make up the difference with a non-recoverable guarantee - it's yours to keep, never deducted from future commissions or owed back.
  • Paid Sales Training: Your first week you'll be deep in training, learning everything about our sales scripts, process, compliance, and learning our systems such as, Rippling, Salesforce, and Vonage.
  • Remote Work: You'll have the freedom of a fully remote position, allowing for a work-life balance that suits your lifestyle.
  • Be Part of the Tribe: At Tribe, you're not a culture fit, you're a culture add. We believe in nurturing our team members and fostering an environment of collaboration, support, and mutual success. Check our team success stories here!

What Success Looks Like
  • Highly-driven self starters, who are motivated by growth opportunities and the drive to excel in sales.
  • Knowledge, background, or raw passion around health and wellness.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, with top-notch communication skills and a knack for building genuine connections.
  • The ability to work 40 hours per week (8 hours per day) starting at 8 AM CST.
  • Reliable internet and equipment are required. Because this position involves frequent phone and video calls, you'll need a setup that can support clear, uninterrupted conversations.
    This means you should have:
    • A fast and reliable laptop or desktop computer, with a working mic, camera, and a headset.
    • Ethernet connection strongly preferred because it provides the most consistent call quality. (Usually requires an inexpensive cable you connect from your computer to your modem.)
    • Enough dedicated internet speed to support calls and software without delays, or dropped audio. Minimum [10] Mbps download / [5] Mbps upload of dedicated bandwidth, with latency under ~150ms, jitter under ~30ms, and packet loss under ~1%.

Join us if you thrive in a growth-centric global environment with amazing (and really fun) people who want you to succeed. If that sounds like you, Tribe Wellness is your tribe. Apply today and work with a very different type of company.
