FIDUS Pet Concierge is San Diego's FIRST exclusive pet amenity club designed for luxury apartment communities.  Our mission is to raise the standard of care and quality of life for apartment living pets while making life easier for pet-parents. We are pioneers in the pet hospitality space and are looking for innovative, passionate, and pet-loving people to join our movement as we set the new gold standard for domesticated-pet care. 

Job Description

At FIDUS Pet Concierge, we're a small but growing start-up company with a team of six fabulous people. We're looking to fill a part-time position (with the option for full-time) as a Pet Groomer. This is a direct employee position and not a contract role. This person will be reporting to the General Manager.

  • Professionally perform basic grooming services on animals as requested by clients, ensuring the safety and well-being of each animal

  • Provide high level of customer service to all clients

  • Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts

  • Move animals and merchandise up to 30 pounds

  • Utilize grooming instruments including shears and dryers

  • Participate in events to build and strengthen client relationships.

  • Clean and organize facility daily.
     

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1-2 years grooming experience preferred

  • Grooming Certification Preferred

  • Desire to grow in pet-related professions or pet hospitality field such as: Dog Walking, Veterinary, Grooming, and/or Business Management

  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional work offsite

  • Must be available to work weekends

  • As our Pet Groomer, you need to feel comfortable grooming both dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes. 

  • You must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with different clients, some of whom require a high level of patience and tact.

  • The ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships is key, while interacting confidently with people of diverse backgrounds.

  • Having a true passion for animals or a desire to be a professional in the pet industry is required, as we invest heavily on employee training and certifications. 

  • You must possess visionary qualities such as being open to exploring and sharing ideas to help improve the company, while showing adaptability to adjust methods quickly and with ease.

  • You must exhibit problem-solving skills to assess and resolve issues with little authority.
